The mayor supports the project of thermal water

BREAKING NEWS : EL PEÑÓN, Barahona.- The reformist mayor, Mario Caraballo, said yesterday that he supported at 100% the construction of the hotel project in the thermal waters of the Canoa municipal district, in Barahona.

He added that it represented the definitive starting point of the tourism in the South region, specially in what is called the fourth ecotourism pole that is represented by Barahona.

The mayor asked the chapter house of Vicente Noble, to deliver urgently the acceptation letter that it has to yield to the Therma de la Salamandra company for the work building. This project consists in a thermal complex at Canoa, with an investment of 25,000 millions pesos, and that will help to stimulate the development of the Health Tourism.

Craballo explained that the richness of the thermal and mineral waters of this area existed for millions of years, but that it was the first time the Dominican State had a serious project in its hands.

Barahona never had a best opportunity in all its life to fight the poverty and increase the employment numbers, finally declared Mario Caraballo.
