BREAKING NEWS: BARAHONA. - It is with a cost of 725.000 pesos, that the town hall of Barahona built a park in the Prolongación Invi-Cea district of Villa Central.

The work was inaugurated during a ceremony chaired by the mayor of this municipality, Noel Octavio Subervi Nin, of civil servants and residents of the community.

The park includes green areas, an electric service and all the settings needed to spend a pleasant moment. The construction was carried out by engineer Ramón Marmolejos, and was elevated on a land acquired by the town hall for an amount of 175.000 pesos.

At the time of the ceremony, the Community leader Luis Ramírez, spoke and thanked the mayor Subervi Nin for having built the work.

The municipal district of Villa Central is populated of 18.000 inhabitants and includes the districts of Los Block, Los Solares de Milton, Las Salinas, Juan Pablo Duarte, Invi-Cea among others.

BREAKING NEWS: BARAHONA. - At least 5 thousand 600 hotel rooms will be built this year in this province, announced the Secretary of Tourism, Francisco Javier García.

There are other projects like that of the 5 thousand 600 rooms in Barahona, there is also a circuit which we will develop all around the Enriquillo Lake and two other projects, one of 400 and another of 450 million dollars in the sector of Pedernales, he said.

He expressed that for his management, the tourist development of the South was a reality because they were not only projects.

He explained that the studies of the new Malecón of Barahona were finished like those of the new port, which will be a commercial and tourist port.

The Minister of Tourism made this announcement at the time of the presentation of the tourist promotion campaign which includes the Southern zone of the country, where appear images of the provinces of Bahoruco, Barahona and Pedernales.

This campaign is intended for the media of Dominican Republic, of Europe and of United States.
