The Tourism Ministry will renovate the Malecon of Barahona

To attract more tourists

BREAKING NEWS : The deputy minister of tourism for the region south-west, Jose Santana Olivero has informed the Ministry of Tourism is currently working on a new design malecón tourist Avenue Enriquillo Barahona.

Mr. Olivero was reminded that, as announced by the Minister of Tourism Francisco Javier Garcia, during a ceremony at the Hotel Costa Larimar this locality, an investment of 120 million pesos will be used for this work.

Olivero Santana explained that discussions were underway to determine if it is possible to have a commercial port and a tourist port, yet it is trading on all aspects.

The official added that the current port that slows Barahona what would be the true development of tourism in the area.

He stated that the Director of the Port Authority, José Francisco Peña Guaba, had visited the city to find a solution to the commercial activity taking place on the port of Barahona.

He said Mr. Peña Guaba also wants to find a solution so that this port is tourism, not business.
