BREAKING NEWS: Barahona.- The bathing points of Los Patos
and San Rafael
were full of vacationers who came to these places this Friday, to enjoy the cool waters of its rivers, spending time with family.
A reduced flow of people was observed in the Playa El Quemaito
, but there were also a large number of people who were happy to swim in this open sea, and preferred the closeness of the place to enjoy their vacation.
At Los Patos
several buses were seen, arriving from other towns filled with vacationers. People shared with the family playing dominoes, checkers, patch and swimming in the river.
However, some of them complained about the high prices of cooked food sold there, especially the service that includes fried fish with fried plantains and coconut rice.

Ecotourism Cluster of Barahona and the Dominican Alliance for Sustainable Tourism joins forcesBREAKING NEWS: Barahona.- In the Dominican Republic there is a potential for tourism and attracting the attention of more selective tourists. It’s the case of Barahona, a region struggling to preserve its tourist attractions in their own 1650.49 square kilometers, with the goal of being one of the most complete tourist offers in the country.
Currently, work are concentrated on the redevelopment of Barahona village center, by improving and creating of theme parks and a boulevard in front of the seawall of the city.
The construction of new tourist port is a priority, for with which authorities will bring 120 million pesos.
The strength that this region offers for tourism and natural assets has not only been recognized by the tour leaders in the country, since it also draws the attention of vacationers who frequent the area.
The cluster of Ecotourism in Barahona cooperates with theDominican Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (DSTA), through an initiative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The project of the (USAID) are developed through the Inter American Development Bank (IDB), the Japanese Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Spanish International Cooperation Agency (AECI), Unesco, the Agency German Development Cooperation (GTZ) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
