Modern office of the Directorate General of Passport inaugurated

BREAKING NEWS: Barahona.- General Director of Passports, Dr. Flavia Garcia led the inauguration event of a modern office for the issuance and renewal of passports.

In the crowded event, the provincial governor, Matthew Eddy Vasquez said the new post office represents a significant achievement for Barahona and the other provinces including the region Enriquillo.

Dr. Garcia said the local unit was purchased and conditioned by the management of passports, in order that residents in that district to obtain their travel documents at home, with efficiency and attention usually at headquarters.

The new post office, located at Rua Luis E. del Monte, number 13, is part of the objectives of the Directorate General of Passports, which insists on fulfilling its vision in line with the programmatic lines of the government of President Dr. Leonel Fernández, to march toward modernity and the progress, the official said.

He stressed that the General Directorate of Passports fulfills its mission to provide the taxpayer of a passport as travel document that meets international quality standards for its high levels of security, offering a comfortable, quick service and unreliable.

In this respect Dr. Garcia said that the institution is working on implementation of new post offices and renovation throughout the country to provide better service to taxpayers.

The Directorate General of Passports has a goal that all Dominicans have the facility of being able to have a Passport Office at the forefront with the changing times, said Dr. Garcia.

This post office will be headed by Attorney Juan Ramon Martinez, a prominent lawyer of this town of Barahona.

In the activity were also present, the governor Matthew Vasquez, the trustee Noel Octavio Suberví Nin, the administrator of the National Housing Institute (Invi) Alma Fernandez and architect Mr. Victor Manuel Terrero and Ubrí Maria Mendez.

Also the head of the National Army, Virgilio Perez Feliz general and the head of state Mayor ERTA Domnicana Force, Carlos Rafael Altuna Tezanos Martin and other military and civilian authorities.

The work was blessed by the general vicar of the Diocese of Barahona, Frank Felix, who urged the people of the region Enriquillo, comprising the provinces of Barahona, Pedernales, Independencia and Bahoruco, put it to good use this service and its facilities.
